TOEIC scores and CEFR levels
ETS has published the minimum score for each level, section by section. ETS recommends reading the two sections separately; the total below is simply the sum of both thresholds.
| Level | Listening | Reading | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| A1 | 60 | 60 | 120 |
| A2 | 110 | 115 | 225 |
| B1 | 275 | 275 | 550 |
| B2 | 400 | 385 | 785 |
| C1 | 490 | 455 | 945 |
That is why 785 is so often required by universities and employers: it is the B2 threshold.
A serious test, honest about its limits
- Same format: the same seven parts, the same number of options (3 in Part 2, 4 elsewhere), the same rules (audio played once, no going back, timed reading).
- A calculated score, not a guess: each question is written for a specific level. The calculation weighs the difficulty of the questions you got right and the chance of guessing, then uses the official ETS thresholds to place your result on the TOEIC scale.
- An estimate: ETS does not publish its conversion table, and even a real TOEIC has a margin of about 25 points per section. With 30 questions, this test gives a reliable estimate of your level, not an official score.
- Original questions: none are copied from a real exam.
